THE NEW PRAM The landscape has an ephemeral quality
which contrasts strongly with the solid dark shape of the pram.
The half open (or closed) hood and the taut cover suggests that
a child is within. If the pram appears to be abandoned in the
watery landscape it nevertheless seems quite at home. In the distance,
above left, there is the dark outline of a submarine, a reminder
of the hidden depths beneath. A submarine may be a sinister motif
however it is sailing out of the picture at the same time as the
equidistant seagulls are flying in and towards us. |
